Shelby’s Bridge has received a $7,500 grant from the Community Foundation of West Texas to provide products and instruments for job and social skills training.
Shelby’s Bridge is a nonprofit organization serving the South Plains with transitional planning and employment training for students and adults with dis-ABILITIES. Formed in 2017, Shelby’s Bridge has helped over 200 students and adults with developmental dis-abilities obtain, retain, and utilize employment training.
The Community Foundation of West Texas grant will be used to purchase retail equipment for merchandising training, provide training for each participant to obtain certification in culinary processes, and obtain products for training in both culinary and floral work.
Georgann Storm, Chairman of the Board at Shelby’s Bridge stated, “These funds are critical in furthering the mission at Shelby’s Bridge. Having adequate training equipment and products allows our Friends multiple opportunities to obtain and practice skills necessary to get and keep jobs.”
