The Plains Cotton Growers Inc. 66th Annual Meeting has been set for Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at the Overton Hotel and Conference Center in Lubbock. Walk-in registration as well as a buffet breakfast will begin at 7:30 a.m., and the program will commence at 9:00 a.m.
This year’s program will feature keynote speaker John Kriesel. Kriesel is a combat veteran who served in Iraq and is a former State House Representative in Minnesota. While in Iraq he lost three friends and was tragically injured yet came home with a powerful message of hope and living testimony to the value of a positive attitude to overcome any challenge.
Tyne Morgan, host of the U.S. Farm Report, will also be joining us to provide an agricultural industry outlook and emcee the event. Morgan takes a deep dive into the news and issues farmers are facing today, while also sharing stories from across rural America. Other presenters include Mark Messura, senior vice president of global supply chain marketing for Cotton Incorporated and Martin Stoerner, PCG president, will present on PCG’s activities and operations.
This year, PCG is partnering with the High Plains Journal (HPJ) and StoneX Group to offer afternoon workshops at the close of the annual meeting. The HPJ’s Cotton U workshop will take place from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. with breakout sessions focused on weed control, sustainability and the 2023 Farm Bill. The breakout sessions will be bookended with a farm partnership panel and a farmer panel discussing agricultural practices.
StoneX Group’s Cotton Marketing and Hedging workshop will take place from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. as well, featuring market outlooks, and informational sessions on interest rate hedging and cotton hedging with futures and over- the- counter products.
