PASTOR’S CORNER

When Life Feels Like Too Much to Bear ...

Dear friends, There are seasons in life when the weight we carry feels unbearable. The bills pile up, relationships strain, grief settles in, health declines, and anxiety whispers that we are alone. Even faithful people experience moments when the road feels too steep and the burden too heavy. The truth is, God never promised a life free from hardship. But He did promise His presence in the middle of it. Scripture reminds us in- Psalm 55:22 “Cast your burden on the Lord, and He will sustain you.”

Notice that God does not say we must carry everything ourselves. Instead, He invites us to release what is crushing us into His hands. Many people today are exhausted not only from life itself, but from trying to hold together things they were never meant to carry alone. Jesus spoke tenderly to weary hearts in- Matthew 11:28 “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”

What a much needed message for our hurried world. Rest is not found in pretending we are strong enough. Rest is found in surrender. Sometimes faith is not standing tall without tears — sometimes faith is simply taking the next step while trusting God to hold you together.

The Apostle Paul understood overwhelming pressure. In 2 Corinthians 1:8, he admitted that he was “burdened beyond measure.” Yet through that hardship, Paul discovered something powerful: when human strength runs out, God’s strength becomes even more visible. That means your difficult season does not disqualify you from God’s love. Your struggle is not proof that God abandoned you. In fact, some of God’s deepest work happens in the valleys we never would have chosen.

Today, someone reading this may feel emotionally drained, spiritually dry, or mentally overwhelmed. If that is you, remember this: God still sees you. He still hears your prayers. And He is still walking beside you, even when you cannot feel Him.

Galatians 6:9 offers this encouragement“Let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.”

Dear friends, do not give up in the middle of the story! Instead, here is a challenge for you. This week, choose one burden you have been carrying alone and intentionally place it before God in prayer. Then, look around for someone else who may also be struggling quietly. Offer a word of encouragement, a phone call, a prayer, or a simple act of kindness.

Sometimes God lifts our burdens by using us to help carry someone else’s. And when life feels like too much to bear, may we remember — we were never meant to bear it alone.
