Two Olton High School seniors have earned recognition after their outstanding 4- H record books advanced to the Texas 4-H State Record Book Competition.
Olton high school seniors Jeri Holcomb and Claire Lostroh were selected to compete at the state level after their record books qualified through the judging process. This achievement recognizes their dedication and involvement in their project areas.
Holcomb advanced in Citizenship & Civic Education, highlighting work in community involvement, leadership and service. Lostroh advanced in Fashion & Interior Design, showcasing achievements in a creative project area.
The Texas 4-H Record Book program allows members to document their project experiences, leadership activities, community service, and personal growth. Advancing to the state competition is considered a significant accomplishment, as students from across Texas compete for recognition in a variety of project categories.
Reaching this level means a student’s record book has already stood out through multiple rounds of judging, often beginning at the county level and progressing through district competition before advancing to state.
Both Holcomb and Lostroh will represent Olton High School and the local 4-H community at the state competition.
Olton ISD congratulated the two seniors on their facebook page for their achievements, recognizing the hard work and commitment it takes to reach this level of competition.
