Olton FFA members, Fabian Gutierrez, Eve Saiz, and Demetrio Alvarado in Mr. Long’s Ag Equipment & Design classes successfully completed the Texas Cattle Feeders Association (TCFA) Technician certification.
Certification, a challenging 3-part process that put their skills to the test!
Part 1: A trip to Warren Cat in Lubbock for safety training, a shop tour, and hands- on time operating heavy equipment like the Skid Steer and Front-End Loader.
Part 2: A visit to Hale Center Feeders, where students participated in TCFA Safety Training and toured the feed mill.
Part 3: Testing at WTAMU, which included a written exam, a skills test (welding, cutting, heating & bending metal), Lock Out/Tag Out procedures, and even a job interview with industry professionals.
After successfully completing all phases, each student earned a TCFA jacket and certification!
