A new Christmas Tree was lit for the first time in front of the Courthouse, between the Lamb County Library and the Littlefield Police Department. “This is a project that we’ve been working on and a dream of mine since I was a child,” Lamb County Judge Mike DeLoach said. “I’ve always looked around at our courthouse and saw that our courthouse was one of those that doesn’t have a yard. We have a street in front of us, a street behind us and a street on both sides. Most of the courthouses you see in our area have a yard, and thanks to a project that the City of Littlefield did, we have a small one and I’m not done with it yet, but we have a small one, but the first things that we wanted to do is erect a Christmas Tree, something to recognize our Christmas season.” Judge DeLoach delivered a prayer at the site of the new Christmas tree. Judge DeLoach dedicated this occasion to all of our children, past, present and future who may experience this symbol of faith, hope and love, and because of this they believe. In closing the crowd gathered around the newly lit Christmas Tree and shouted Merry Christmas. (Photo Courtesy of Lori Zinn)
