The Littlefield High School National Honor Society held the annual Induction Ceremony for new members on Monday, April 29, 2024.
The Ceremony opened with the processional of the current members of the National Honor Society and the Inductees of the new members of the 2024-2025 National Honor Society.
The welcome was presented by the current NHS president, Kamryn Meiwes. The Invocation was presented by Lauren Turpen followed by The Pledges of Allegiance led by Sam Hill, NHS Vice President.
Kamryn Meiwes then introduced the keynote Address by Littlefield Mayor, Eric Turpen.
Following Mayor Turpen’s address, current officers presented the Core Principles of the National Honor Society.
Kaylee Soria, NHS Historian, presented “Scholarship”.
Julie Bownds, NHS Secretary, presented “Service”.
Sam Hill, NHS Vice-President presented “Leadership” Amiah Elizondo, NHS Sr. Representative presented “Character”.
The Induction of the new members of the National Honor Society then proceeded as Kamryn Meiwes, led the current members and inductees in the recitation of the National Honor Society Pledge. The inductions were then carried out by the National Honor Society Sponsors.
The Vestiture and Charge was performed by Littlefield High School Assistant Principal, Brent Green.
Closing remarks were presented by Kamryn Meiwes followed by the Recessional of the National Honor Society Members.
Special Thanks were offered to the Littlefield High School custodial staff, and all the teachers, students, and school board members who made the event possible. Sophomore escorts were Althea Reyna, Caleb Caudillo, Bryndle Ray, Sophie Garcia, Kevin Nachak, Payton Bussanmas, Josh Parker, and Lyric Rios.

Following the Induction Ceremony, a reception was served to all guests in the gymnasium reception area.
