Martin Duran leads first update in Bowl Game Blowout

The Lamb County Leader-News’ Bowl Game Blowout is underway with six bowls in the books.

In the Myrtle Beach Bowl, Ohio took down Georgia Southern, 4121, while Jackstonville State edged out a nail-biter over Louisiana in overtime, 34-31, in the New Orleans Bowl. In the Cure Bowl, Appalachian Sate won a low-scoring affair over Miami (OH), 13-9, while Fresno State defeated New Mexico State, 37-10, in the New Mexico Bowl.

In the LA Bowl, UCLA took down Boise State, 35-22, while Texas Tech rolled passed California in the Independence Bowl, 3414.

This year we had 18 contestants fill out the game cards.

So far in the contest, Martin Duran leads the field with six points, while Ernest Hernandez, Elisardo Cueto, Danny Sanders and Jan Smith are tied for second with five points each and Ben Eastepp, Jaime Grey and Joe Lopez are tied for third with four points each.

Teresa Dabrowski, Johnny Rosemond, Tommy Cloninger, Bryan Allcorn, Juan Garza and Jennifer Ray are tied with three points each, while Ed Dabrowski and Richard Carter each have two points and Pablo Trevino and Maria Pinon each have one point.
