Littlefield ISD to celebrate ribbon cutting for new high school

Littlefield ISD is excited to announce the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Littlefield High School, located at 1100 West Waylon Jennings Blvd, in Littlefield, Texas, on Jan. 10, 2025, at 10 a.m. (weather permitting).

The new Littlefield High School addresses the community’s desire for improved facilities and enhanced educational opportunities, particularly through a state-of-theart Career and Technical Education (CTE) program. This innovative facility provides students with the tools to build workforce-ready skills in fields such as agriculture mechanics, welding, construction technology, automotive technology, robotics, health science, and even video game design.

The project came to life through constant collaboration between Littlefield ISD, local interdisciplinary design firm Parkhill, South Plains College, teachers, students, and community partners. A series of design charrettes, meetings, and focused discussions ensured the facility was tailored to meet the unique needs of the Littlefield community while also aligning with South Plains College’s resources and expertise. A Gathering Space for All In addition to advanced CTE facilities, the new high school boasts a thoughtfully designed commons area, inspired by the vision of former principal Amber Hays. This versatile space provides a hub for student activities, school assemblies, banquets, theatre productions, and more. It also serves as a place for students to come together before and after school, fostering a strong sense of community and school pride. Built for Generations to Come Spanning 90,000 square feet, this modern high school reflects Littlefield ISD’s relentless focus on prioritizing students and their experiences. With leading-edge facilities and spaces designed for both learning and connection, Littlefield High School is a testament to the community’s dedication to its youth and future.
