Members of the Littlefield FFA Chapter traveled to Fort Worth last week to take part in the 98th annual Texas FFA State Convention, held July 6 -10 at the Fort Worth Convention Center.
The statewide event drew more than 16,000 FFA members, advisors and guests, making it one of the largest student-led conventions in the country. Throughout the week, students attended leadership sessions, recognition programs and other activities designed to highlight achievements in agricultural education.
Two Littlefield students, Ky Hays and Maggie McNeese, earned the Lonestar FFA Degree during the convention. The award is the highest honor presented at the state level and recognizes a member’s commitment to leadership, supervised agricultural experience and FFA involvement.
Other chapter members attending included Boston Haltom, Piper Carr, Ty Carr, Kat Hill, Brooke Storey, Emma Romero, Avaley Campbell, Taylor Campbell and Brenna Lowe, all of whom took part in convention events and represented the chapter.
Outside of official sessions, students enjoyed a day of shopping and mini golf, also attending an Aaron Watson concert and a Texas Rangers game.
