Littlefield City Council holds regular meeting

The governing body of the City of Littlefield, Texas, met at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, May 24th at the City Council Chambers, 525 Phelps Avenue, for the purpose of considering all matters and related incidents to the City of Littlefield.

Littlefield Mayor Eric Turpen called the meeting to order at 6 p.m. and Mayor Pro tempore Kenny Rucker led the invocation, while Mayor Turpen followed, leading the Pledge of Allegiance.

No one requested to comment during Public Comments and no new employees were present to be introduced.

The Council approved the minuted from the April 26th and May 12th meetings. The motion was made by Mayor Pro temore Rucker and seconded by Council Member Michael Rangel. The motion carried.

Next, the Council considered and approved Monthly Departmental Reports: Police Dept.; Fire Dept.; EMS; Code Enforcement; Animal Control; Landfill; Water/ Wastewater; Streets and

Parks; Municipal Court; Monthly Financial Reports; Sales Tax Collection; Property

Tax Collection reports; LEDC A and B minutes, if Boards met.

Council Member Rangel made the motion to approve the monthly reports and it was seconded by Mayor Pro tempore Rucker. The motion carried.

The Council went over April expenses, before a motion was made by Mayor Pro tempore Rucker and seonded by Rangel to approve the

April expenses. The motion carried.

The Council also approved All Ways Towing Expenses. The motion was made by Council Member Rangel and seconded by Mayor Pro tempore Rucker. The motion passed with 3 ayes. Council Member Buddy Holmes was not present.

Next on the Agenda was to consider and approve Appointment of Mayor Pro Tempore for the Next

Year.

Council Member Rangel nominated Kenny Rucker as Mayor Pro tempore for the next year. Mayor Turpen seconded the motion. The motion carried.

City Manager Mitch Grant presented the Updated Aquatic Center Rules.

“We’ve decided to change our rates from $3.50 to $3, so that we don’t have to handle so much change. It apparently has been hard to get change, as well,” City Manager Mitch Grant said. “The Pool pass books will be $50.”

Council Member Rangel made the motion to approve the Updated Aquatic Center rules and it was seconded by Mayor Pro tempore Rucker. The motion carried.

The Council considered and approved the Sale for Trust Properties in the City of Littlefield from Texas

Communities Group:

Parcel 18835, winning bidder Mitchell Stinson, $10,000, 212 E 15 th St, DUGGAN ANNEX, BLOCK 37, LOT 3.

Mayor Turpen made the motion to approve the sale of trust properties from Texas Communities Group and the motion was seconded by Council Member Rangel. The motion carried.

With no further business to discuss, Mayor Turpen adjourned the meeting at 6:13 p.m.
