On Monday May 25, 2025 Littlefield High School had 13 High School and two Jr. High Maroon Honors Band students traveled to Pflugerville, Texas to compete at UIL State Solo & Ensemble Contest.
This contest was held on the campus of Hendrickson High School.
We had four students performing solos and 13 students competing in ensembles. At UIL State Solo Contest, any student earning a 1st or 2nd division from the judges will medal at this contest.
Zamya Darnell- Flute and Aryanna Ramirez- Trumpet earned 2nd divisions (Silver Medals) on their Performance for judges and Euphonium Player, Matthew Rios, earned a 1st division (Gold Medal) on his performance for his judge. Matt also earned applause from his judge.
We had a clarinet trio, percussion quartet, woodwind quintet, and a trombone trio performing at state. Each ensemble earned a 2nd division on their performances at state. Unfortunately the ensembles do not medal when earning a 2. Any group scoring a 1 or 2 at state improved from the region level in February. We are extremely proud of all of them.
