The Littlefield Independent School District Board of Trustees met in Special Session on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at 12 p.m. in the Board Room of the Jerry Blakely Administration Building.
The meeting was called to order by Board President Gary Birkelback and the Invocation was given by Will Williams.
There was nobody present to speak during public forum.
The Minutes from the previous meeting were discussed under consent agenda items. A correction was made on Agenda Item 8) Board Reorganization. Nomination by Pat Demel and seconded by Williams to Elect Gary Birkelbach as Board President.
Item four on the agenda was Personnel Matters Including Appointment, Employment, Evaluation, Reassignmentt, Duties, Discipline, Dismissal and / or Compensation of Indivdual District Employees.
Pursuant to Texas Government Code Section 551.074 the Board went into executive session to discuss personnel. The Board went into Executive Session at 12:16 p.m. they returned from Executive Session at 12:39 p.m.
Certified Personnel: The Motion was made by Demel and seconded by Sal Acevedo to approve hiring certified personnel (Ally Oyanguren) for postion of High School Teacher/Head Softball Coach; (Joann Cueto) as High School Spanish Teacher; (Ray Vargas) as High School Building Trades Teacher; (Morelia Sanchez) as Junior High Texas History Teacher; (Steven Riley) as Junior High American History Teacher; (Genasis Garza) as Junior High Science Teacher/Coach; (Laurie Hood) as 2nd Grade Teacher. The motion carried unanimously.
Resignation letters were presented on Sharon Wilson. At-Will-Personnel: Hanna Fort was hired as a (High School Special Education Paraprofessionel) and Harley Bass was hired in the (Maintenance Department).
With there being no further business, Board President Birkelbach declared the meeting adjourned at 12:42 p.m. ”
