The Littlefield Economic Development Corporation Type A met in regular session at 12 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 30, 2022 at the Chamber of Commerce Office, located at 206 W. 3rd Street.
Members present were President Joel Griffith, Treasurer Gary Jones, Chase Bryant, Graham Henley and Executive Director Michael Neighbors.
Vice President Lori Zinn was absent.
Others present were City Manager Mitch Grant, Mayor Eric Turpen, City Secretary Janine Butler and Samantha Pontius of the Lamb County Leader News.
President Joel Griffith called the meeting to order at 12:02 p.m. Graham Henley led the invocation and Gary Jones led the Pledge of Allegiance.
No one requested to speak for public comment.
The next item on the agenda was to consider and approve the minutes from the Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2022 meeting. Gary Jones made the motion to approve the minutes. Graham Henley seconded the motion. The motion carried.
Item number six on the agenda was to consider and approve the Financial Report, which there was not one.
The next item on the agenda was to consider and approve the Directors’ Reports. Michael Neighbors stated he had been in contact with a few franchises, Freedom Air is closing on a building, AAA Cabinets is active and Monday, Oct. 17, Neighbors will be attending the Texas Economic Development Corp. annual conference in San Antonio.
Item number eight on the agenda was to move into an Executive Session to Discuss Acquisition of Real Property per Texas Government Code 551.072 on Deliberations about Real Property. President Joel Griffith closed the regular session and entered executive session at 12:06 p.m. Joel Griffith closed the executive session and reopened the regular session at ‘A’12:19 p.m. No action was taken.
The next item on the agenda was to consider and discuss Acquisition of Real Property. Gary Jones made the motion to move forward with contracts for acquisition of real property. The motion was seconded by Graham Henley. The motion carried.
With there being no further business to discuss, Chase Bryant made the motion to adjourn, seconded by Gary Jones. The motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 12:20 p.m.
