A two vehicle wreck took place just before 8 p.m. on Monday evening, leaving one person deceased and one injured.
A 2019 Peterbilt Tractor and trailer was westbound on U.S. 84 approaching the Loop 430 intersection. A 2015 Ford Fusion was stopped at the stop sign at the intersection of Loop 430 and U.S. 84 facing south.
The Ford Fusion failed to yield the right of way to traffic on U.S. 84 and accelerated into the path of the truck from the stop sign. The Ford Fusion was struck on the left passenger side of the vehicle.
The driver of the Ford Fusion, David Perez, 31, of Lubbock, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the truck, Kendall Crump, 32, of San Antonio, was transported to the Lamb Healthcare Center with minor injuries by Littlefield EMS.
