Lamb County Retired School Personnel Association meeting set for September 2nd

The September meeting of the Lamb County Retired School Personnel Association will be held at 10:00 a.m. at the Fellowship Hall of the Littlefield Methodist Church. President Cindie Walker will conduct the meeting and lead discussions of the focus of the Association for the 2025-2026 year. Retired School Personnel from Lamb County are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Again this year the Association will donate toys to Lamb County CPS. Attendees are requested to bring toys to each of the October, November, and December meetings. The toys we donated last year were enthusiastically and excitedly received.

Did you know that our Association donates books to the second graders in each of the Lamb County Schools? This year we will donate to the Amherst second graders. At each meeting we collect donations to buy the books we will distribute.

Did you know that we will have a Bake Sale in October? There are many talented cooks in our Association— cakes, pies, cookies, brownies, breads, cinnamon rolls—makes my mouth water. A good way to please your sweet tooth!

Did you know that our Association has a Scholarship which is awarded to a Lamb County Senior each year? This year the award was given to the Sudan Foundation which distributed the money. This school year the Scholarship will go to an Amherst Senior.

Did you know that the Texas Retired Teachers’ Association (TRTA) worked to have the Texas Legislature pass a much-needed cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) for retired teachers? TRTA continues their work of securing benefits for retirees who are members.

Did you know that your TRTA member number is above the address on your copy of The Voice news bulletin?

We hope to see you on September 2, at 10:00 at Littlefield Methodist Church in the Fellowship Hall. Y’all come!!
