On Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2023, the Lamb County Retired School Personnel Association ( new name) will have their first meeting of this school year at 10 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall of the Littlefield Methodist Church.
The program will be given by Judy Kennedy, District XVII President. Other items discussed at the meeting will include: 1. Proposition 9 was approved by both the Texas House of Rep-resentative and the Texas Senate during the regular session. It authorizes a Cost-of-Living Adjustment for certain retired school personnel. The proposition must now be approved by Texas Voters on Nov. 7. IMPORTANT: Vote “ Approved” on Proposition 9!
2. Membership dues for Texas Retired Teachers’ Association and for the Lamb County Retired School Personnel Association are due to Janice Sokoro or Donice Jones IMMEDIATELY.
3. Members are encouraged to invite Retired School Personnel who live in Lamb County to attend our monthly meetings.
4. Plans for a Bake Sale in the Spring will be discussed.
5. In April 2024 our Association will take books to the second graders in the Springlake-Earth ISD. Members are encouraged to donate monies to purchase the books.
