The Lamb County Extension Office hosted a Conference on Sustainable Agriculture from 8 a.m.

until 3 p.m. on Monday, December 19, 2022. Seven participants took advantage of the last opportunity of this year to earn CEU Certificates in Chemicals and Pesticides, Laws and Regulations, and General Pest Management. Lamb County Extension Agent, Brandon Albus and Ashlee Walker hosted the event and registered the participants.

Kristie Keys, the Agronomy Agent for Castro, Hale, and Lamb County conducted the conference.

Coffee and Doughnuts were served by the Lamb County Extension at 8:00am. Graham Henley welcomed the participants.

Peter Dotray then presented a summary of 2022 Weed Control.

Juan Pineiro gave a presentation on Forage Sorghum.

Justin Benavidez presented a report on the Market Outlook on Grains, Cotton, and cattle Calin Trostle presented a review on Grain Sorghum Production.

Lunch which was sponsored by Capital Farm Credit was then served At 12:30, Calvin Trostle presented Top Dressing Nitrogen in Wheat.

Katie Lewis discussed Increased Efficiency to Reduce Input Costs.

Kerry Siders then presented IPM Challenges in 2022 and the outlook for 2023.

The final presentation for the conference was brought by Curtis Preston who discussed all terrain vehicle safety. He stated that Texas leads in the number of youngsters killed and injured while riding in or operating ATVs. 298 were under the age of 10 years.
