In accordance with Texas Water Code, the High Plains Underground Water Conservation District (HPWD) Board of Directors is seeking public comment on proposed Desired Future Conditions (DFCs) for Groundwater Management Area (GMA) 1 & 2.
The portions of HPWD in Armstrong, Potter, and Randall Counties are in GMA 1. The majority of HPWD lies within GMA 2.
In April, the HPWD Board of Directors scheduled two DFC public hearings within the District’s service area.
• The first hearing was at 1:30 p.m., June 8, at the HPWD Office in Lubbock. No public comment was received concerning proposed DFCs in either GMA.
• The second hearing is set for 1:30 p.m., July 13, at the Kuhlman Extension Center, 200 N. Brown Rd., Canyon, TX. This will be held in conjunction with the July HPWD Board of Directors meeting.
