Each year, around the holiday season, the true meaning of the holiday season gets overshadowed by materialistic things and fancy get-a-ways. It’s important to take a moment and sit back and look at all that you have and have accomplished over the past year, as a person, as a family, as an employee, etc.
We asked people around the community what they’re Thankful for and these were their responses: Ambrosia Nelson, Assistant Librarian at the Lamb County Library, stated, “I have much to be thankful for but will TRY to keep it short. This year, I am thankful for my health and that of my family. I’m thankful for the opportunities I’m blessed with, and the capabilities to do the things I enjoy. I’m thankful for all of my parents, and everything they’ve done to help me get to where I am today.”
She added, “I’m thankful for my siblings and that I get to have forever friends in them. I’m thankful that I was blessed to be the mother of a silly, wonderful little girl. And, I’m grateful for each morning I wake up and get to see the sun another day. I’m so tremendously blessed with the life God has granted me.”
Jerry Fudge, 75, explained, that he is thankful for everything in his life.
Ann Jones said that she is thankful for God, her family that comes to visit her and her 17 grandchildren.
Dennis Swartz, stated, “I’m thankful for the election results.”
Jean Patterson, 90, said that she is thankful for her health and family.
Joy Kefer, 95, expressed that she is thankful for celebrating her birthday and life.
Bill Jones is thankful for the leadership in this country and for having no war.
Tomi Adams is thankful for family, good health and happiness.
Lori Fudge is thankful for the senior citizens who visit the center and spend their time together.
Gina De Los Santos, of Littlefield, stated, “I’m thankful for this great country and the opportunity we have living here. For my family and close friends because of the love, support, and protection we give to each other naturally. Last but not least, my Lord and Savior. Without Him I do not know what I would do or who I would be.”
Kara Silvas, of Littlefield, said, “I’m thankful for Jesus Christ, my family, my village, and my dogs, just to name a few.”
Morris Randle Sr., of Littlefield, stated, “I’m thankful for so many things; first and foremost I’m thankful that God chose to wake me up this morning and that I’m healthy and my kids are healthy. I’m thankful for friends and family, I’m thankful that I live in a great small town and for life.”
Alyssa Hartley, of Littlefield, explained, “I’m thankful for my husband and all that he does to support our family. He is my light on my darkest days and I’m so grateful for him. I’m also thankful for my family and I’m thankful God has blessed me with a beautiful life.”
Jasmine Garza, of Littlefield, said, “I’m thankful for my boys and my boyfriend for always working hard to provide for us so I can stay home and raise our 1 year old and thankful for my Hosanna Church family and pastors.”
