Hospital Board receives resignation, & 90-day notice from Dr. Ann Bass

The Lamb County Hospital’s Board of Managers met for a regular business meeting at noon Tuesday, April 19, 2022, in the Education Room of the hospital.

AGENDA

1. Tony Barton, president, called the meeting to order at 12:12 p.m.

2. No one made a public comment about any of the agenda items.

3. Minutes of the Feb. 15, business meeting were approved unanimously as written.

4. CEO Cindy Klein reviewed the Financial Report narrative, ending March 31, 2022.

She reported that revenues for the year to date are under the prior year by a total of $6,896,003. They are: Inpatient Reveuue, Outpatient Revenue; and Revenue Deducations.

Expenses for the year to date that are over the prior year are: Salaries and Wages, Vacation Accrual, Audit fees, Laboratory Reageants, Property and General Insurance, and Workers Compenstion.

Expenses that are under the prior year are: Pharmaceuticals; Maintenance Contract, Purchased Services, Electricity, Equipment Rental, Repair and Maintenance, and Physicial Reimursement.

5. Dr. Rolando Rodriguez, M.D. mentioned that the Medical Staff approved the initial appointments and Re-appointments.

The initial appointments are Maksim Efremv, for CRNA; and Dr. Bhavika r. Dave, M.D., for Direct Radiology.

The Re-appointments for Dr. Rodney W. Sholty, M.D.; and R. Elroy T. Cantrel, DO, both for Concord.

The board approved all of the appointments.

Dr Rodriguez also reported that Crista Moyer has resigned from the Olton Rural Clinic, and that Dr. Ann Bass has given her 90- day notice that she is leaving at the end of June.

6. Stacie Styron, Director of Nursing, reviewed the monthly reports on Infection Control, and Trauma and QAPI.

7. Cindy Klein mentioned that the board will need to come back next month and decide on an increase to the insurance renewal for the employees. July is the month for insurance renewal

8. A 2 and 1/3-page list of Supplus Inventory was distributed to the Board of Managers, and the board approved the list as surplus inventory.

9. Lamb Healthcare Center’s Cash Flow and Investment Schedule for the month ending March 31, shows it had a beginning County Bank Balance of $6,309,575.89.

With total deposits in the amount of $1,345,515.59; and total disbursements in the amount of ($1,154,855.84); the ending county bank balance was $6,500,235.64.

10. Lamb Healthcare Center’s Family Medicine Clinic’s Profit and Loss Statement, as of March 31, 2022, revealed it had $180,337 in revenue before contractuals (which are not included in revenue).

Total expenses by the end of the month on March 31, were ($185,309) which leaves a net of revenue and expense at a loss of ($4,972).

The Clinic had 1,626 office visits in March, when 3,930 total procedures were done.

Revenue with lab came to $257.425.71, while revenue with write offs came to $223,149.57. Total receipts were $135,519.33.

The Olton Rural Health Clinic’s Profit and Loss Statement began with $12m119, in revenue before contractuals (which are not included in revenue).

With total expenses in the amount of $13,340, that left the Net of Revenue and Expense at a loss of ($1,221).

The Olton Clinic had 124 office visits in March, when 274 total procedures were done.

Revenue with lab came to $19,505.14; while Revenue with write-offs came to $17,023.76. Total receipts were $11,318.82.

The Board of Managers went into executive session at 1:13 p.m. to conduct the annual evaluation of the Chief Executive Officer, before returning to open session, and eventual adjournment.
