In accordance with Texas Water Code 36.154, the High Plains Underground Water Conservation District (HPWD) Board of Directors prepares and approves an annual budget in August. This includes an estimated tax rate or fee revenues required for the maintenance and operation of the Water District.
At their September 13, 2022, regular meeting, the HPWD Board of Directors adopted a tax rate of $0.004686 per each $100 of assessed valuation of property on the tax rolls of each county or portion of a county within the District as of January 1, 2022.
