The Lamb County Grand Jury for the July Term A.D. 2024 of the Lamb County 154th Judicial District Court met on Monday, Nov. 25, 2024, when seven indictments were returned.
Chad Austin Degrate, 38, of Earth, was indicted on a charge of Assault Int/Reck Breath/Circ Fam Mem Prev IAT 22.01(b-3) PENAL CODE F2, that occurred on or about the 2nd day of November, 2024.
His Bond is set at $7,500 and he is to have no contact with the victim.
Felix Delarosa, 39, of Lubbock, was indicted on a charge of Tamper W/Electronic Monitoring Device 38.112(b) PENAL CODE F2, that occurred on or about the 23rd day of June, 2024.
Punishment Enhancements 1. And it is further presented that, before the commission of the charged offense (hereafter styled the primary offense), on the 16th day of January, 2008, in cause number 4435 in the 154th District Court of Lamb County, Texas, the defendant was finally convicted of the felony offense of Assault on a Public Servant; 2. And it is further presented that, before the commission of the primary offense, and after the conviction in cause number 4435 was final, the defendant committed the felony offense of Manufacture/ Delivery of a Controlled Substance in PG 1, 200-400g, and was finally convicted on the 11th day of May, 2017, in cause number DCR-542716 in the 154th District Court of Lamb County, Texas; His Bond is set at $3,500. And it is further presented in and to said Court that on or about the 23rd day of June, 2024, in Lamb County, Texas, the Defendant did then and there, with intent to dam- age or destroy a habitation located at 601 E 15th St., start a fire by spilling or pouring accelerant and then lighting a flame, knowing that the habitation had located within it property belonging to another, namely personal items, appliances, furniture, clothing, household goods, toiletries, and decorations, belonging to Sparkle Douglas;

And it is further presented in and to said Court that on or about the 23rd day of June, 2024, in Lamb County, Texas, the Defendant did then and there, with intent to damage or destroy a vehicle, start a fire by spilling or pouring accelerant and lighting a flame and igniting a roll of paper towels and putting the flame in and on the vehicle, knowing that the vehicle was within the limits of in incorporated city or town, namely the City of Littlefield;

Gabriel Lee Cantu, 43, of Earth, was indicted on a charge of Evading Arrest Det W/ Veh 38.04(b)(2)(A) PENAL CODE F3, that occurred on or about the 11th day of October, 2024.

And it is further presented that, prior to the commission of the charged offense (hereafter styled the primary offense), on the 12th day of June, 2003, in cause number 3388 in the 154th District Court of Lamb County, Texas, the defendant was finally convicted of the felony offense of Burglary of a Habitation; 2. And it is further presented that, prior to the commission of the primary offense, and after the conviction in cause number 3388 was final, the defendant committed the felony offense of Burglary of a Habitation, and was finally convicted on the 7th day of December, 2000, in cause number A2681-0004 in the 64th District Court of Castro County, Texas; 3. And it is further presented that, prior to the commission of the primary offense, and after the conviction in cause number A26810004 was final, the defendant committed the felony offense of Assault Family/Household Member with a Prior Conviction, and was finally convicted, on the 11th day of May, 2010, in cause number 2009-424,469 in the 364th District Court of Lubbock County, Texas; 4. And it is further presented that, prior to the commission of the primary offense, and after the conviction in cause number 2009424,469 was final, the defendant committed the felony offense of Forgery of a Financial Instrument – Elderly Victim, and was finally convicted on the 12th day of May, 2014, in cause number DCR-506614 in the 154th District Court of Lamb County, Texas; 5. And it is further presented that, prior to the commission of the primary offense, and after the conviction in cause number DCR5066-14 was final, the defendant committed the felony offense of Assault Family/Household Member with a Prior Conviction, and was finally convicted on the 29th day of January, 2021, in cause number DCR-5472-16 in the 154th District Court of Lamb County, Texas; and the defendant committed the felony offense Assault Family/ Household Member with a Prior Conviction, and was finally convicted on the 27th day of June, 2017, in cause number 27363C in the 251st District Court of Randall County, Texas; His Bond is set at $20,000. Luis Cano Prieto, 33, of Littlefield, was indicted on a charge of Agg Asslt w/Deadly Weapon 22.02(a)(2) PENAL CODE F2, that occurred on or about the 30th day of June, 2024.
His bond is set at $75,000 and he is to have no contact with Beatrize Romero, Luis Flores, or Sergio Duarte.
Carl Houston Turner, 51, of Littlefield, was indicted on a charge of Poss CS PG 1/ 1B>=1G<4G 481.115(c) HEALTH and SAFETY CODE F3 that occurred on or about the 27th day of June, 2024.
His bond is set at $10,000.
