Five members of Lamb Healthcare Auxiliary attended the 2024 Texas Association of Healthcare Volunteers (TAHV) Conference in San Marcos, Texas, May 20th through the 22nd.
This was the 80th annual TAHV Conference. Those attending were Lori Durham, Retha Williams, Eva Reyes, Doris Howell, and Barbara Colbert.
Monday night started with Bingo and prizes. Tuesday, was Bring your own ideas with volunteers grouping together and sharing ideas. It was a very valued networking opportunity.
There was a gift shop seminar, silent auction and door prizes. Vendors were on hand with a variety of items.
At noon was a lunch box served and opening session with speaker Brad Benham Esq talked about Breast Cancer and how it effects the family unit. There were different breakout sessions. “Stop the Bleed” It showed how to keep people that are bleeding profusely alive until they can get help.
“New CPR” the changes in the CPR and update on what do do.
“Wills and Estate Planning” helping people understand the importance of wills and estate planning.
“Rural Hospital Fundraising” ideas for small hospitals.
Tuesday night ended with the President’s Party, it’s theme was “Celebrating Volunteers” with music and Casino Night.
Wednesday continued with break out sessions and award viewing. At noon, was the uniform luncheon, award and installation of officers. Speaker for the luncheon was Trish Wilson, a motivational speaker and author.
She shared her passion of connecting people with purpose and passion in work and in life.
Next years TAHV conference will be held in Frisco, Texas.
