On Wednesday, Dec. 14th at 6:57 p.m. a two vehicle wreck occurred on US Hwy. 385 and FM 1585 2.8 miles south of Levelland, TX, leaving one person deceased and another injured.
The Preliminary investigation revealed that a 2010 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Zabrian Xzavier Granado, 33, of Levelland, was traveling westbound on FM 1585, approaching US 385. A 2014 GMC Yukon SUV driven by Tracy Marie Baten, 49, of Levelland, Tx, was northbound on US 385, approaching FM 1585. The Silverado disregarded the stop sign on FM 1585 at the intersection with US 385. The Silverado entered the intersection directly in the path of the Yukon, and both vehicles collided in the intersection.
Granado was pronounced deceased on Dec. 14, 2022, by Justice of the Peace, Derek Lawless, while Baten was transported to Covenant Hospital in Lubbock for incapacitating injuries.
