Emily Castillo is running for District Clerk of Lamb County, citing a desire to serve the people of Lamb County by utilizing her three years of experience and training as a Deputy District Clerk. She had served the office from August of 2015 until August of 2018.

Emily has lived most of her life in Littlefield, and has attended and is still active in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

She graduated from Littlefield High School in 2009. She aspired to a career in Family Law and enrolled at West Texas A & M University in Canyon, Texas. She also studied at South Plains College in Levelland toward an Associate Degree in Management.

Emily loves education, and decided to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree at West Texas A&M. She learned that she had enough credits to pursue a second degree, so she decided to go for it, and she has two Bachelor’s Degrees in Business Management and Marketing.

She is currently teaching Government and Economics at Littlefield High School. She also coaches volleyball, basketball, and softball.

When asked why she decided to run for public office she cited some life changes. She is engaged to marry Simon Rodriguez. She is raising four children, London, Victoria, Nathan , and Abigail. She would like to continue public service and be able to devote more time to her family.

Emily stated: “I am dedicated to serving the citizens of Lamb County in the most efficient and timely manner possible. My training and continuing education during my years of service in the District Clerk office will enable me to accomplish this goal.”

The Tuesday, March 1, 2022 election day polling place will be where the new Voter Registration cards designate. Early voting by personal appearance will be in the Courthouse, 100 Sixth Drive, Room 103, starting Monday, Feb. 14, 2022, and concluding on Friday, Feb. 25. The Courthouse will be closed on Monday, Feb. 21 for President’s Day.
