2020-2021 LION OF YEAR – DeLynn Butler was awarded the “Lion of the Year” award at the Early Risers Lions Club’s annual banquet June 24, at Loco’s Restaurant. Presenting the award was Justin Balderas, Lion Boss.
NELDA BLACKWELL was presented a plaque, in honor of her husband, James Blackwell, a charter member of the Early Risers Lions Club, at the annual banquet on Thursday, June 24, 2021 at Loco’s Restaurant. Nelda and James’s two children, their spouses and a granddaughter were present for the presentation. Left to right, they are: Sydney Garza, Melete White, Greg White, Nelda Blackwell, Justin Balderas (presenter), Tory Blackwell and Londi Blackwell. During the meeting, three of the officers were re-elected and installed to another term of office by Kip Cutshall. Included were: Lion Boss Justin Balderas, Treasurer Eric Turpen, and Secretary Brette Southard.
