COVID deaths increase from 27 to 35

Lamb County Judge James M. DeLoach has advised the county’s residents, that the COVID-19 virus is still very active, and residents still need to be observing precautions and suggestions regarding their personal safety, and the safety of others.

He said, “Below, you will find the current COVID numbers. You will see an increase in the deaths, from last week’s reported 27 total deaths, to the current number of 35 deaths. This number reflects the DSHS confirmed deaths for Lamb County.

“A death is linked to COVID when the doctor or Justice of Peace list COVID as a cause if death,” the judge explained.

As of Tuesday, Dec. 8. 2020 at 11:25, the judge reported that there are now 1,029 recovered cases, which shows an increase from the 884 recoveries reported last Tuesday, Dec. 1.

There are now 178 active cases in the county, which have come down from the 184 that were reported last Tuesday.

Some of the cities in Lamb County are showing a decrease in their total active cases, while others are showing increases.

Amherst has 18 current cases, which is up from the 15 reported last week.

Earth has 13 current cases, which is down from the 19 cases it had last Tuesday.

Littlefield now has 110 active cases, which is compared with the 124 reported last Tuesday, Dec. 1.

Olton has 19 active cases, which has nearly doubled last week’s report of 9 cases, by the addition of 10 more than last week.

Spade still has only one case, as was reported last week.

Sudan’s report of 15 last week, jumped up by one more, to 16 current cases within a week.

Springlake now has one active case, following a report of none for last week.
