These cases were tried before the Judge of the 154th District Court of Lamb County in late March and early to mid April, 2021 Waiver of Jury Trials
For the March 30, 2021 guilty plea from Christopher Weaver, on the third degree felony indictment charge of Prohibited Substance / Item in Correctional Facility, Weaver was sentenced to 10 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice Correctional Institutions Division. The sentence was to begin March 30, 2021.
He is also to pay $180 restitution to the DPS, Restitution and Account at Austin, and to pay $290 court costs. Order Deferred Adjudication
On March 30, 2021, Charles Russell King went before the 154- th district Court Judge for two orders of Deferred Adjudication cases.
Both were King’s waiver of the right to trials by jury, and entered two Guilty pleas. The first was a state jail felony indictment charge for the offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance PG 1<1G, that occurred June 22, 2019.
The second was a third degree felony indictment charge for the offense of assault of a Public Servant, that occurred June 22, 2019.
In exchange for King’s pleas, the state recommended that the court find that there is evidence to substantiate a finding of guilt, but defer that finding for the period of Deferred Adjudication Community Supervision of five years.
He is also to pay a fine of $500, and $290 for court costs, and $180 restitution paid to Texas Dept. of Public Safety: Restitution Accounting in Austin..
On April 7, 2021, Anthony Jordan Rendon waived the right to trial by jury and entered the Guilty plea of True to the indictment charge of second degree felony offene of possesion of controlled substance PG 2 >= 4G<400G, that occurrred Dec. 14, 2019.
In exchange for the defendant’s plea, the state recommended that the court finds that there is evidence to substntiate a finding of guilt, but defer that finding for a period of Deferred Adjudication Community Supervision for five years.
He is ordered to pay a $500 fine, $290 for court costs, and restitution to the state for $180.
On April 13, 2021, Benito Alverez waived the right to trial by jury and entered the Guilty plea to the second degree felony indictment charge of Aggravated Assault with a deadly weapon, (a firearm), that occurred May 5, 2020.
In exchange for Alverez’s guilty plea, the state receommended that the court find that there is evidence to substantiate a finding of guilt, but defer that finding for a period of five years of Deferred Adjudication Community Supervision.
He is also to pay $290 for court costs and $6,233. in restitution to the victim.
On April 13, 2021 Johnathan Joe Ramirez waived the right to trial by jury, and entered the Guilty Plea to the State Jail Felony Indictment charge of Possession of ConTtrolled Substance PG 1 <1G, that occurred Aug. 7, 2020. In exchange for his plea, a three-year period of Deferred Adjudication Community Superision was ordered.
He is also to pay $250 in fines, $290 for court costs, and $180 in restitution to the state of Texas.
On April 13, 2021, Roberto Leonardo Marquez, waived the right to trial by jury, and entered the plea of Guilty to the Second Degree Felony Indictment Charge of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon (not a firearm), that occurred on Nov. 24, 2020.
In exchange for his plea of True, it was found to be true, and the period of Deferred Adjudication was 10 years of Community Supervision.
He is also to pay $1,000 in fines, and $290 for court costs. Judgment Adjudicating Guilt
On April 7, Jennifer Garza entered a plea of True to the motion to Adjudicate, for the offense of Possession of Controlled Substance PG 1 <1G, that occurred on Jan. 14, 2018.
In exchange for the plea of true, the state recommended that her punishment be assessed as: two years, State Jail Division, TDCJ.
She is also to pay $1,000 in fines, $180 in restitution to the state, and $309 for Court Costs.
