Motion to Dismiss
On April 6, 2022, the Lamb County District Attorney requested that the Lamb County Court dismiss the criminal action against Defendant Adan Estrada-Venzor for three reasons:
1. It best serves the interests of justice;
2. Insufficient evidence;
3. Other: Protective Order incorrectly stated in the Court’s Order.
After considering the case, The Court ordered, adjudged and decreed that the case be dismissed.
WAIVERS OF JURY TRIALS
On April 14, 2022, Rene Rosendo Gloria entered two guilty pleas to two different offenses:
The first: Assault Causes Bodily Injury to Family Member that occrred Sept. 30, 2021;
And the second offense, Evading Arrest and Detention that occurred Nov. 1, 2021.
The Court ordered a concurent sentence of 30 days confinement in the County Jail, beginning April 14, 2022.
He has already served 42 days towards incarceration and fines and costs.
Retired Teachers to deliver books to second graders
The Lamb County Retired Teachers’ upcoming meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 3, at 10 a.m. at the Fellowship Hall of the Littlefield United Methodist Church.
Members will go to the Littlefield Primary School, where they will give each second grader their own book to take home to keep. This is an annual project with a different Lamb County school receiving the books each year.
After the presentation, the members will meet at the Grainery to enjoy lunch together.
All retired employees of Lamb County school systems are highly encouraged to join this organization.
County Library needs all kind of book donations
The Lamb County Library needs more books, and graciously accepts all kinds of book donations.
No appointment is needed. Books can be dropped off in the library’s drop box on the east side of the the library, located at 110 E. 6th Street.
The library is currently receiving a lot of calls for Western Paperbacks.
