Commissioners hold regular meeting Monday

The Commissioner’s Court of Lamb County held their regular meeting on Monday, July 10, 2023 at the Lamb County Courthouse.

The meeting was called to order at 9 a.m. by County Judge James DeLoach, and there was no one present for Public Comment.

Consent Agenda Items: (a) Consider and take appropriate action on minutes from previous meeting(s), June 10, 2023 (b) Consider and take appropriate action on budget and salary amendments and/or line item transfers; None; (c) Consider and take appropriate action on bills presented by the County Auditor, Gina Jones (d) Consider and take appropriate action on payroll; Jerry Yarbrough (e) Consider and take appropriate action on departmental reports; None Motion was made by Commissioner Danny Short and seconded by Commissioner Lee Logan to approve the consent agenda items. The vote being called for and all voting Aye, the motion carried and so ordered.

Consider and take appropriate action on Inter-local Agreement with Regional Public Defender for Capital Cases: Motion was made by Commissioner Lee Logan and seconded by Commissioner Danny Short to approve the Inter-local Agreement with Regional Public Defender for Capital Cases. The vote being called for and all voting Aye, the motion carried and so ordered.

Consider and take appropriate action on Juror pay raise for first day according to Texas HB-3474: Motion was made by Commissioner Lee Logan and seconded by Commissioner Danny Short to approve the Juror Pay as presented by Jerry Yarbrough to raise juror pay. The vote being called for and all voting Aye, the motion carried and so ordered.

Discuss Lamb Healthcare Operations: Cindy Pope gave reports on Lamb Healthcare Center operations. Pope stated that they had accepted the bid made on the Sleep Lab which came in at $79,000. It was the lowest of three bids considered.

Future agenda items: Each Elected Official and Department Head gave brief reports on office and future agenda items. Budget work session; Gina Jones, Auditor stated the first print of the budget would be in notebooks for Commissioner’s to pick up Tuesday, July 11, after 1 p.m.

July 25 is when certified values will be received.

There being no further business before this commissioners Court, the motion was made by Commissioner Lee Logan and seconded by Commissioner Danny Short to adjourn. The vote was unanimous and the court was adjourned at 9:31 a.m.
