The Commissioners Court of Lamb County held their regular meeting on Friday, Nov. 8th at the Lamb County Courthouse to discuss an 8-item agenda.
The meeting was called to order at 10 a.m. by Lamb County Judge James DeLoach, and District Judge Scott Say gave the Invocation.

Consent Agenda Items: a) Consider and take appropriate action on minutes from previous meeting(s); Jude DeLoach stated there was one set of minutes and they appeared to be in order. b) Consider and take appropriate action on budget and salary amendments and/or line-item transfers; Lamb County Auditor, Gina Jones requested that the Commissioners approved the Budget Adjustments as presented. c) Consider and take appropriate action on bills presented by the County Auditor; Gina Jones requested that the commissioners approve bills totaling $953,374.35.
d) Consider and take appropriate action on payroll; Jerry Yarbrough stated that she had two sets of payroll needing approval. She requested that the commissioners approve payroll for Lamb County ending on Nov. 1st, in the amount of $165,964.71. She also requested that the commissioners approve payroll for LHC ending on Nov. 2nd in the amount of $202,299.05. e) Consider and take appropriate action on departmental reports; none.
The motion to approve the consent agenda items as presented was made by Commissioner Danny Short and seconded by Commissioner Cory DeBerry. The motion carried.
Item four was to consider and take appropriate action on County Holidays.
The 2025 Lamb County Holiday Schedule is as follows: New Years Day, Wed. Jan 1st; MLK Day Mon. Jan 20th; President’s day, Mon. Feb 17th; Texas Independence Day, Mon. March 3rd; Good Friday, Fri. April 18th; Memorial Day, Mon. May 26th; Independence Day, Fri. July 4th; Labor Day, Mon. Sept. 1st; Columbus Day, Mon. Oct 13th; Veteran’s Day, Tues. Nov. 11th; Thanksgiving, Thurs. and Fri. Nov. 27th and 28th; Christmas, Wednesday close at noon, Dec 24th, off Thurs. and Fri. Dec. 25th and 26th.
The motion to approve the County Holiday Calendar was made by Commissioner DeBerry and seconded by Commissioner Short. The motion carried.
The next order of business was to consider and take appropriate action on the Treasurer’s Quarterly Report.
Yarbrough presented the Treasuerer’s Quarterly Report.
The motion to approve the report was made by Commissioner DeBerry and seconded by Commissioner Short. The motion carried.
The next item on the agenda was to consider and take appropriate action on the Burn Ban.
After a brief discussion, no action was taken.
Future agenda items were discussed.
There will be an organizational meeting for the 391 Commission on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. in the Commissioners Court Room. There will be no action taken by the Commissioners Court, however there is likely to be a quorum of the Commissioner Court in the room that night.
On Nov. 15th, Fri. we’re going to meet at 9 a.m. in here to Canvas the election.
Mike McNutt gave an update on LHC.
“We had our Sleep Lab accreditation survey last week and I’m pleased to announce that it went well,” he said. “We are working on our official plan of correction right now, and should have it turned in as soon as today [Friday], and it takes about 30 days for them to send us our certificate. Once we have that it will open us up for Medicare and Medicaid.
He added, “Our Trunk or Treat was great last week. We had a lot of businesses there participating and even some that hadn’t in the past, so that was great.”
We will have a dedication of the Christmas Tree and flag pole on Dec. 6th, weather permitting.
With no further business to discuss, a motion was made to adjourn by Commissioner DeBerry and seconded by Commissioner Short. The meeting was adjourned at 10:43 a.m.
