Commissioners had long agenda on Oct. 24

The County Commissioners Court met in regular session Monday, Oct. 24, 2022 at 10 a.m. at the Lamb County Courthouse.

Judge James M. DeLoach called the meeting to order, gave the invocation and led the Pledge of Allegiance.

No one spoke for public comment.

The Consent Agenda items were as follows: Consider and take appropriate action on minutes from previous meetings, which took place Friday, Oct. 7, 2022; Consider and take appropriate action on budget and salary amendments and/or line item transfers, which there were none; Consider and take appropriate action on bills presented by the County Auditor, Gina Jones; Consider and take appropriate action on payroll, presented by Jerry Yarbrough; and Consider and take appropriate action on departmental reports, which there were none.

A motion was made by Commissioner Lee Logan and seconded by Commissioner Danny Short to approve the consent agenda items. The motion carried.

Item number four on the agenda was to consider and take appropriate action on Financing motor grade in Precinct 1.

A motion was made by Commissioner Cory DeBerry and seconded by Commissioner Lee Logan to approve the Financing motor grade for Precinct 1, with Judge James DeLoach and Auditor Gina Jones to look at the financing options. The motion carried.

The next item on the agenda was to consider and take appropriate action on Right of Way crossing in Precinct 1.

The motion was made by Commissioner Cory DeBerry to approve the right of way crossing. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Danny Short. The motion carried.

Item number six on the agenda was to consider and take appropriate action on Amended Central Counting Station for Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2022.

A motion was made by Commissioner Kent Lewis and seconded by Commissioner Lee Logan to approve the Amended Central Counting Station, adding Todd Moore from Earth as a clerk. The motion carried.

The next item on the agenda was to consider and take appropriate action to approve the appointment of FCS Agent for Lamb County Agri-Life Extension.

The motion to approve the appointment of FCS Agent, Kathy Lostroh, for Lamb County Agri-Life Extension was made by Commissioner Lee Logan. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Cory DeBerry. The motion carried.

Item number eight on the agenda was to consider and take appropriate action on Annual Bond Supervision Report.

Ben Diaz, Adult Probation Officer, gave an annual Bond Supervision Report as the program has been in place for a little of a year.

The next item on the agenda was to consider and take appropriate action on Appointment/Reappointment of LHC Board of Managers for even number years.

A motion was made by Commissioner Cory DeBerry and seconded by Commissioner Lee Logan to approve the Appointment/ Reappointment of LHC Board of Managers for even number years. The vote being called for four voting aye and one voting nay. The motion carried non-unanimously.

Item number 10 on the agenda was to discuss Lamb Healthcare Center Operations.

Cindy Pop gave the report regarding the Lamb Healthcare Center.

Item number 11 was to discuss all future agenda items.

The Jury Trial was still ongoing and the Election was still ongoing.

With there being no further business to bring before the Commissioners Court, a motion was made by Commissioner Danny Short to adjourn. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Lee Logan. The motion carried. The meeting adjourned.
