CITY WATER CREW BUSY THIS WEEK

CITY OF LITTLEFIELD’S WATER CREW is shown at work Thursday, to replace a “T” water pipe near the intersection of ParkAvenue and 13th Street in Littlefield. A resident reported there was a leak there, and work began on the repair at 2 p.m. Wednesday. Workers retired at 9 p.m., and returned at 8 a.m. Thursday, hoping to have the job completed by 5 p.m. (”in time to go home.”) The removed pipe may be seen on the street, near the “digging claws” of the backhoe. At work on the pipe in the ground, are City employees Lorenzo Saenz, Jonathan Villarreal, and Nate Herrera. Terry Benton operated the backhoe, and Rene Galan was on the wet, muddy ground, assisting the other workers. He volunteered to take photos on the Leader-News camera.
