The Lamb County Leader-News’ Big Bracket Challenge has just two rounds left with the Sweet 16 and Elite 8 now in the books.
The first and second rounds of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament are in the books.
In the Sweet 16 in the South Bracket, one seed Auburn took down five seed Michigan, 78-65, while two seed Michigan State took down six seed Ole Miss, 9178.
In the Sweet 16 in the West Bracket, one seed Florida handled business against four seed Maryland, 87-71, while three seed Texas Tech survived an upset attempt from 10 seed Arkansas, 85-83.
In the Sweet 16 in East Bracket, one seed Duke held off four seed Arizona, 100-93, while two seed Alabama took down six seed BYU, 113-88.
In the first round in the Midwest Bracket, one seed Houston survived an upset scare from four seed Purdue, 62-60, while two seed Tennessee took down three seed Kentucky, 78-65.
In the Elite 8, one seed Auburn took down two seed Michigan State, 70- 64, while one seed Florida took down three seed Texas Tech, 84-79. On the other side of the bracket, one seed Houston handled two seed Tennessee, 69-50, while one seed Duke took care of two seed Alabama 85-65.
The standings through the first four rounds of the Big Bracket Challenge are as follows: Ed Dabrowski pulled ahead of the pack to take over first place with 109 points and he is followed by Tammy McDaniel in second place with 105 points and Teresa Dabrowski in third place with 103 points. John Hernandez is in fourth place with 102 points, while Danny Sanders is in fifth place with 101 points and Sheryl Sanders is in sixth place with 100 points.
Ben Eastepp is in seventh with 98 points, while Michael McDaniel and Tim Walker are tied for eighth with 97 points, Micky Orozco is in ninth with 96 points and JD Pence rounds out the top 10 with 95 points.
Larry Ashley has 93 points, JC Orozco has 90 points, Susan Haney and Richard Lewallen each have 85 points, Lonnie Neinast has 84 points, Richard Orozco has 82 points, Shaun Lewallen has 80 points, Dwight Lewallen and Stetson Sedberry each have 77 points, Sheryl Lewallen has 67 points, Robin Neinast has 60 points, Elisardo Cueto has 58 points, Martin Duran has 51 points and Marcelino Castillo has 44 points.
