Aspen Reyher wins 3rd place at Area 1

The Lamb County Soil and Water Conservation District announced the 2022 Texas Conservation Awards Program winners.

The program was divided into two categories. The first was the essay contest, which was divided into a Junior Division: 13 years old and under and a Senior Division: 14 years old to 18 years old. The second category was the poster contest for 12-year-olds and under. The topic for both the essay and poster contests was “Healthy Soils: Healthy Life.”

For the Junior Division of the essay contest, the first place winner was Malariee Rosa of Sudan ISD. The second place winner was Aspen Reyher of Sudan ISD. The third place winner was Dani Rameriz of Sudan ISD.

For the Senior Division of the essay contest, the first place winner was Addisyn Harrell of Sudan ISD. The second place winner was Stephanie Jaramillo of Sudan ISD. The third place winner was Kate Boehning of Sudan ISD.

The first place winner of the poster contest was Andres Melendez of Sudan ISD. The second place winner of the poster contest was Mattie Jo Sowder of Sudan ISD.

Lamb County’s first and second place winners in all three divisions were entered into the Area 1 (Panhandle and Northwest Texas) contest. The third place winner of the Area 1 Junior Division was Aspen Reyher with his essay.
