The Community Foundation of West Texas is excited to announce the opening of applications for its Mini-Grants for Teachers program. This initiative has been a cornerstone in supporting elementary and secondary school teachers by providing small grants to enhance their class curriculum and create memorable learning experiences for students.
Since its inception in 1998, the Mini-Grants for Teachers program, funded exclusively through local private donations, has been instrumental in enriching classroom environments. The initiative has distributed over $584,880 in grants, benefiting over 552 teachers and impacting thousands of students. These grants empower teachers to acquire innovative teaching materials that excite young minds.
In The 2023-2024 school year, 29 dedicated teachers from Lubbock and the surrounding South Plains school districts were recipients of$25,162 in mini-grants — enabling educators to implement new teaching methods and elevate the educational journey for their students.
Teachers interested in applying for a mini-grant are encouraged to submit their applications before the June 1 deadline. Detailed information about the application process and eligibility criteria can be found on the Community Foundation of West Texas’ official website: www.cfwtx.org/mini-grants-forteachers.
