COVID-19 cases slowing slightly in Lamb County

Amanda Torres, Lamb County Judge James DeLoach’s Administrative Assistant, reports that there are now 184 active COVID-19 cases in Lamb County, as of Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2020. That number is down by 51 cases from the 235 cases that were reported last Tuesday, Nov. 24.

There have now been 884 patients who have recovered from the virus since the pandemic began, while on Nov. 24, there had been 776 recoveries.

The death toll is still at a total of 27 patients since the virus began.

Current reports for each of Lamb County’s communities are:

Amherst, still at 15 from last week; Earth, 19, down from last week’s report of 25; Littlefield, 124 cases, down from the 158 from last week; Olton, 9 active cases, down from last week’s 16 cases; Spade, still only one case; Springlake, 1, up from none reported last week; Sudan, 15, down from the 20 reported Nov. 24.

Please continue the following practices to keep you and your family safe:

• WEARAMASK!

• Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds especially after you have been in a public place, or after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.

• Use a hand sanitizer that conSee 3tains at least 60% alcohol. Cover all surfaces of your hands and rub them together until they feel dry.

• Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.

• Avoid close contact with people who are sick.

• Stay home if you are sick, except to get medical care.

• Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze or use the inside of your elbow.

• Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces daily.
