McCoy’s celebrate 70th Anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Gayle McCoy were honored with a 70th wedding anniversary reception on Sunday, Oct. 23, 2022 in the home of Randy and Dinah McCoy in Littlefield.

The event was hosted by their children and grandchildren. Special guests were Lola Reed, Nina Smith, Booner and Kelly Smith, and David and Paula Smith all of Olton.

The former Lillie Mae Rankin and Gayle Lee McCoy marred on Oct. 25, 1952 in Clovis, New Mexico. At their wedding, 70 years ago, the bride wore a navy blue taffeta dress, designed with a shirred yoke studded with rhinestones, a pink carnation corsage and a white hat trimmed with a veil and rhinestones. The couple wed at the Baptist parsonage in Clovis, New Mexico with Lillie Mae Rankin’s parents, Gayle Lee McCoy’s parents and his sister, Patsy Dawn McCoy, in attendance.

The McCoy’s have four children, Deb Hairston of Dallas, Shelly Burchfield of Spade, Randy McCoy of Littlefield and Tammy Doolittle of Levelland. They have six living grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

The couple resides in the Spade community where they were involved in farming and trucking for many years before retirement.
