THE HARMONEE SINGERS, comprised of the three Harmon Sisters, Kyla Howell, Jacquelyn Miller, and Holly Enloe, sang several songs on the stage in front of the Amherst City Park Pavilion Saturday, during the Amherst Day Celebration. They were accompanied by a band, formed of Mike Roles, Adam Enloe, Brady Miller and Jacey Moulthrop.
GUYLE ROBERSON Auctioned several items to raise funds for the Amherst Chamber of Commerce, and for a playground area in the City of Amherst’s Park. $2,000 was raised for the Chamber of Commerce for school scholarships, and $600 for the City Park Playground area.
PASTOR KENNETH WINCHESTER was telling the humorous story about his first message as he tried out for the position of being a Baptist Pastor at Attica, Kansas. If anyone knows their Bible very well, knew he had the names “a bid scrambled up.” It was a very funny presentation. He gave the similar speech when he was the guest speaker for the annual Amherst Chamber Banquet in April.
TREVOR JENNINGS played his guitar and sang for the audience at the Amherst City Park Pavilion, and for those still set up with their booths all over the park. His talent is appreciated and enjoyed by many in this area.
DRAWING DOOR PRIZES – Kimberly Brantley and Maria Gonzalez were drawing cards from people who had signed up for the prizes. Several items were on the stage were given away as the names were drawn. If they didn’t respond to get the door prize, they were left on the state until called out later.
BRENT HALL, Praise and Worship Leader at First Baptist Church in Littlefield, sang several solo songs, to his own accompaniment on the guitar.
