Morton got out to a quick start in the first quarter, outscoring Anton, 14-8, but the Lady Dawgs chipped away at the lead in the second frame, netting 11 points, as they trailed Morton, 24-19, going into the locker room at halftime.

The Sudan Nettes’ varsity basketball team won an overtime thriller at Floydada on Friday, 60- 56, to remain in first place in District 4-2A. With the win, the Nettes improve to 17- 8 overall, 8- 1 in district play.

The Amherst Lady Bulldogs’ varsity basketball team fell to the Whiteface Lady Lopes last Friday, 75-18. With the loss, the Lady Bulldogs fall to 0-5 in district play on the season.

The Littlefield Wildcats’ varsity basketball team coasted to a, 6716, victory over the Friona Chieftains on the road on Tuesday in their first meeting of district play. With the win, The Wildcats improve to 13-10 overall, 5-0 in district play.

The Springlake-Earth Lady Wolverines’ varsity basketball team blasted Hart on Tuesday night to pick up a district win, 9428. With the win, the Lady Wolverines improve to 1-3 in district play on the season.

The Sudan Nettes’ varsity basketball team used a big third quarter on Tuesday to pull away from the Lockney Lady Horns in their second meeting of district play, taking the contest, 56- 26. With the win, the Nettes improve to 16- 8 overall, 7- 1 in district play.

The Littlefield Lady Cats’ varsity basketball team swept their season series with the Friona Squaws on Tuesday, taking their second meeting on the road, 67-32. With the win, the Lady Cats improve to 16-9 overall, 7-0 in district play. Madison McNeese opened the game with a put-back off of her own miss and Kennadi Hanlin followed it up with a steal, taking it to the hoop for a lay-up, drawing an and one foul on Jacee Burney. She missed the free throw, leaving the score, 4-0, with 6:47 remaining in the opening quarter.

The Lady Cats’ varsity basketball team stayed unbeaten in district play on Friday, as they took down the Dimmitt Bobbies, 68-33, to close out the first half of district play. With the win, the Lady Cats improve to 15-9 overall, 6-0 in district play.
