The Springlake-Earth Wolverines will kick-off their first six-man season on Friday on the road against the Whitharral Panthers.

They got their first taste of six-man action on Friday when they scrimmaged Silverton and Crowell.

Head Coach Israel DeLeon talked about the scrimmage, saying, “I feel our defense is ahead of our offense. We will need to work on offensive execution.”

The coach talked about what he will need to see from his team in order to be successful on Friday night, saying, “Offensively, we have to run the ball to open up play action and Evan will have to make a play when we decide to throw.”

He added, “Defensively, its about match-ups. We wont know if we can match up to their speed until we get there.”

Coach DeLeon said that this is going to be a learning experience and that execution is going to be the key to getting a victory on Friday.

Kick-off is slated for 7:30 p.m. at Panther Stadium in Whitharral.
