“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” Philippians 4:6

Have you ever done something for someone and they didn’t thank you?

I get notices from young people about graduations every year now. 20 years ago, it would be quite surprising if you didn’t get a thank you card from that student for the gift you sent. Now, it seems that half or more of the students that send me graduation announcements do not send a thank you acknowledgement.

Groveling is not important, but when we give something, we really do like to hear “Thank you” don’t we? Or how about this one: you open the door for someone, and they walk in without saying a word. Don’t you just want to say “Your welcome!” to them?

The above Scripture seems to suggest that we live our whole lives out in a spirit of Thanksgiving, when it comes to God. In other words, in anything, every situation, talk to God in prayer and keep thanksgiving at the center of your relationship with Him.

Don’t you think He loves to hear us say Thank you?!!

There is a song called “Thank You” that says these words: “For all that you do Lord, I thank you. For all that you’re going to do. For all that you promised and all that you are, you’re all that has carried me through, Jesus, I thank you, and I thank you, thank you Lord.”

That is such a beautiful little song, but it says so much. What it says if we sing it with all of our heart, is that we can thank God every second of every day!

Even when things aren’t going our way! Because we know that when things aren’t the best, God is up to something. I like to say when you’re down to nothing, God is up to something!

Not only that, but when things get to looking bad, we can look up to God and remember that He has promised us abundant life here, and eternal life with Him when we breathe our last breath.

Wow! God, we do thank you! So, I challenge you today, and always in every situation, whatever is going on around you, just keep telling God Thank you! For all that you do Lord, I thank you! For all that you’re going to do, for all that you promised and all that you are, you’re all that has carried me through! Jesus, I thank you, and I thank you, I thank you Lord!!!
