To my patrons,

I would like to take a moment for my patrons whom I cherish dearly. This library has been my second home since I moved to Littlefield. I have had so many good memories at the library. I have gotten to know so many amazing people in the community and have had the privilege to call many my friends. May 31 is my last day as Lamb County Library Director.

I was hired as part-time clerk in 2006 by Mary Gonzales. Later, I was promoted to Assistant Librarian by the late Karen Varner. In late 2015, I was chosen to fill the Director’s position that was left vacant due to the death of Karen Varner.

I took great pride in helping every person that came to the library get the help they needed. I am so proud of what has been accomplished in the library. The library was painted in late 2019. In 2020 we added new shelves for the childrens, teen and adult area. New carpet and flooring came next, this was with $30,000 grant money from FMH Foundation in Midland. In 2021, furniture began to arrive. This was also from a $50,000 grant from the Tocker Foundation in Austin. Each area in the library has a new look. We also had all the counter tops redone with epoxy for a more modern look. I’m so happy and proud of this, but Trissi Walden had a very big part in writing the grants for the library. She is priceless!

Our Summer Reading Program has been a success for the past several years, with the support of our community, patrons and businesses; thank you, we could not do it without your generosity. It will only get better under our new leadership. There are new programs offered to our patrons now such as Book Club and a Teen Night at the library. I can’t take credit for this, that belongs to Selena, but I can take credit for hiring her!

I love my job. I hope I had a positive impact on some of you. This is a bittersweet moment for me, I will miss you all! I have sweet memories and will never forget any of you. I hope to have made this library into a one that our community can be proud of. I am leaving the library in good hands. Selena Ramirez will be the new Director, and Tori Dennis will be her Assistant.

Thank you for allowing me to get to know and serve you. May God bless you all. /S/ Candy Seth
