Jesus in His full glory

Revelation 1:17-18

17 And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. But He laid His right hand on me, saying to me, “Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last.

18 “I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death.

Often as I read this passage I can’t help but to think of John referred to as “the disciple He loved”.

As you read in the gospel of John, you can see the deep connection he had with Jesus. From the beginning of Jesus’ ministry to the crucifixion, John was there in those crucial moments.

In my mind I try to fathom what it was like to be side by side and hearing every word preached from our Savior’s mouth. John being there and experiencing those miraculous moments with Jesus.

John was close and he knew Jesus very well. Yet when I read Revelation 1:17 “He falls as if he was dead!” Why would John react like this? He knew Jesus. He was close to Jesus. Something was different.

As you read in verse 16 “His countenance was like the sun shining in its strength.” This verse here says it all.

Seeing our Lord and Savior in His full glory was more than anyone had ever experienced.

I used to think, what would I do if I saw Christ? I know I would fall to my face in fear and trembling. To experience such fierce power and glory is beyond our imagination.

Jesus laid His right hand on John and tells him to not fear.

All I can say is Praise God our Savior lives!

When I read this it brings such great peace and excitement. To have an eternal relationship with our Savior. To be restored and renewed.

I pray that as you read this article that it would ignite and rekindle a flame within. To bring you back to a place of your first love which is Christ. To share Christ with others and that it would fan a flame to others. To be excited that you were chosen to live in such a time as this.

Love you with the Love of Christ.
