To the Patrons of Littlefield ISD:

School got off to a great start! I was pleased with our first week and it was certainly good to see our students getting back into their routine of their day-to-day schedule. Kudos to the entire “Littlefield ISD staff” for making our first week back a huge success! Now that school is back in session, please be cognizant of the school buses and our students who are crossing at lunch in our crosswalks. Safety is a top priority!

A special “Thank You” to all the folks who made “Meet the Wildcats” possible. This is a great tradition that allows our community to come out and meet our student athletes and Cheerleaders who will be representing Littlefield High School. We have begun a number of extracurricular activities such as: Band, Volleyball, Cross Country and Football. I encourage each of you to come out and support our students as they begin a new year with high expectations not only in the extracurricular arena, but also in the classroom.

I am pleased to inform you of new classes we are offering at Littlefield High School. This year to diversify the options for students, LHS is offering a variety of new courses. These courses include Medical Terminology, Forensic Science, Interior Design, OSHA 30, Sports Medicine 2, Agribusiness, Art and Human Body Systems. Medical Terminology is a dual credit class that will benefit our students pursuing higher education, in the medical field. Forensic Science focuses on the skills and concepts behind physical, and aspects of crime scene investigation and forensic science. Interior design is an introductory course that requires students to think creatively, and problem solve to create an interior environment that is pleasing and functional. OSHA 30 is an online course that is a detailed overview of the most common risks of construction work. Sports Medicine 2 is an extension of the Sports Medicine program that was started in the 2020-2021 school year. This prepares students to pursue a higher education in this field. Agribusiness is designed for students who plan to seek employment on, manage, or own a farm; or seek employment in an agribusiness field. Art is an introductory course to promote deeper appreciation of art in general. In Human Body Systems, students examine the interaction of the body system as they explore, and identify power, movement, protection, and homeostasis. Kudos to Amber Hays and her staff for allowing more CTE courses to help prepare our students for the future.

As we begin another school year, I will be recognizing folks who are instrumental in making Littlefield ISD successful every day. I would like to introduce our cafeteria personnel to you. Mary Munoz is our Director of Cafeteria services that oversees all three cafeterias that feed our students breakfast and lunch. In the Primary, we have Victoria Villanueva, Terri Contreras, Irene Saenz, and Maria Villanueva. In the Elementary/Junior High Cafeteria we have Debbie Espinoza who serves as the Cafeteria Manager, Alma Madera, Jessica Enriquez, Angela Montalvo, Nirma Tarango, Omar Diaz, and Maria Borja. In the High School, we have Monica Potts who serves as the Cafeteria Manager and Esmerelda Tarango. These employees do a superb job making sure our students and staff have breakfast and lunch on a daily basis. On behalf of Littlefield Independent School District, WE APPRECIATE YOU!
