WILLIAM YALE ADAMS

William “Bill” Adams, 74, of Slaton passed away Sunday, Feb.5, 2023. Bill was born on May 11, 1948 in Littlefield, TX to William Odell Adams and LaJean Curtis Adams.

Bill grew up on the family farm and attended Spade High School. He graduated Valedictorian of his 1968 class. Bill attended Texas Tech University and later joined the United States Navy. He was commissioned on the USS Hancock and traveled the seas abroad during his tour.

Bill married Sharon Morgan in 1971. They divorced in 1986. While in Lamb County, Bill worked at the American Cotton Growers. He later moved to Lubbock and worked for Ed Curbo Construction. Bill married Shirley Savage in 1997. Bill and Shirley were active in the Youth For Understanding (YFU) and were active members of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Posey.

Bill was a proud Vietnam Veteran. He was a man of many words and always had a smile on his face and a story to tell.

Graveside services were held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 11, 2023 at Littlefield Memorial Park. Arrangements were under the personal care of Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield.
