Wanda Joy Goss, a beloved mother, a devoted servant of God, and a cherished member of her community, peacefully passed away on August 30, 2023, at the age of 89. She was born April 10, 1934, in Montague, Texas to Elbert and Vera Mitchell. She married Benny Goss June 15, 1951, in Roaring Springs, Texas.

Wanda was a woman of many talents and passions. Throughout her life, she enjoyed the simple pleasures of gardening, sewing, and cooking. Her green thumb could transform any patch of soil into a blossoming oasis, and her skillful hands could create beautiful garments and delicious meals that brought joy to those who experienced them. She also loved to play the piano and sing. Wanda's faith was an integral part of her life and she shared it with all of her children, grandchildren, and all of her greats. She was an active member of her church, Sunset Ave Baptist, finding solace and strength in her relationship with God. Wanda's life was filled with joy, love, and service to those around her.

She is survived by two sons, Brian Goss of Whitharral, Texas, and Curtis Goss of Bolivar, Missouri; two daughters, Sherlyn Hutto of Olney Springs, Colorado, and Sheila Edwards of Pensacola, Florida; twenty grandchildren; numerous great and great-great grandchildren; two brothers, Wayburn "Pug" Mitchell of Paducah, Texas, and Doyne Mitchell of North Ridge, California.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Benny Goss; a son, Lee Goss; a brother, Jerald Mitchell; and two sisters, Gaynell Sasser, and Gusita Palmer.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 2, 2023, at First Baptist Church in Littlefield with Reverend Mickey Oglesby officiating. Funeral arrangements were under the personal care of Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield.
