Vicki Carol Barnett (Hill) of Hobbs, New Mexico was called home by the Lord on Good Friday, April 3, 2026, surrounded her family and loved ones.
Vicki, was born in Amherst, Texas, on September 23, 1946 to her parents, Clark and Doris Hill (Talburt). She grew up on the family farm near Fieldton, Texas with her siblings Benton Hill and Debbie Smyth (Hill). Vicki graduated from Littlefield High School, in Littlefield, Texas, and attended both South Plains Junior College and West Texas University earning her bachelor's degree in business administration. Our mother and father met and fell in love, while attending college and married on September 1, 1968. They eventually moved to Hobbs, several years later to open a K-Bob's restaurant where they made a life and raised their family, for over forty years. Soon after, they ventured in business together being entrepreneurs, in the oil and gas industry, as owners of Banta Oilfield Services. Vicki, made many happy memories and dear friendships in life that were all dearly treasured. She will be greatly missed by her family and all the people who love her. Rest in peace, our beloved mother and best friend.
Vicki, is preceded in death by her husband, Larry Barnett; her parents, Clark and Doris Hill; and her brother, Benton Hill.
She is survived by her sister, Debbie Smyth and husband, Mark Smyth. Vicki, is also survived by her daughters: Stacie Barnett and husband, Jeff Layton of Broken Arrow, OK, and children, Ashton Barnett, Madelynn Layton, Brennan Layton, Makenna Layton; Keely Barnett and Eric Gutierrez of Santa Fe, NM, and son, Liam Barnett-Gutierrez; Mindy Barnett and James Kirksey of Lubbock, TX, and sons, Devin Shoobridge and Klayton Barnett-Kirksey.
The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., on April 18, 2026 at the Hillcrest Funeral Home, 1305 Phelps Avenue, Littlefield, Texas 79339. There will be a viewing beginning at 1:00 p.m. A procession to the graveside burial service at Littlefield Memorial Cemetery, will follow after the funeral.
