Ricky Dean Smith, 61 year old resident of Woodward, OK passed from this life on November 2, 2022 in Taloga, OK.

Ricky was born on October 18,1961 to Alice Neal Robinson and the Reverend Porter Smith in Muleshoe, TX.

Ricky attended Springlake-Earth Public Schools in Earth, TX and graduated with the Class of 1981. He continued his education at West Texas A&M in Canyon, TX and at Clovis Community College in Clovis, NM, receiving an Associate's Degree in Psychology. Ricky also obtained certifications in water treatment, waste management, landfill management and had a Class A CDL.

Ricky was blessed with a daughter, Sharicka Lynn. On March 26, 1982, he married Sharon Jackson and in their union they were blessed with a daughter, Rachea DeAnne. They were divorced in 1998.

Ricky resided in West Texas for several years before moving to Oklahoma. He was a man of many talents, with a long-standing career as the City of Earth, TX Water Superintendent, along with Tolk Station, SPS, Sperry Rail Service, KFDA-TV Channel 10, Weatherford International and most recently at Woodward Public Schools as a teacher and coach, which he loved most of all!

Ricky also served as a Volunteer Fireman for over 12 years and as a City Councilman for the City of Earth, TX. He loved dancing, horseshoeing, camping, fishing, snow skiing, golfing and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.

Ricky was baptized at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Earth, TX and later became an Ordained Minister.

Mr. Smith is preceded in death by his parents, Reverend Porter Ray and Alice Neal Smith; brothers, Kenneth, Porter Jr., Victor Lee, and Charles Ray Smith.

He will be dearly missed and remembered by two daughters, Sharicka Lynn Jackson and husband, Caesar of Dallas, TX and Rachea DeAnne-Smith Amdemariam and husband, Girmay of Houston, TX; three granddaughters, Skylar Marcedes Graham, Gebreyella Sedalia Amdemariam and Rahel Isabella Amdemariam; one grandson, Giles Girmay Amdemariam; four sisters, Missionary Minnie Lax and husband, Don, Sandra Talyor and husband, Reverend Joe, and Monica Smith all of Amarillo, TX; Minister Tammy Smith of Atlanta, GA; two brothers, Jimmie Smith and wife, Brenda and Michael Smith and wife, Connie of Amarillo, TX; along with a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, countless students, colleagues and friends whose lives he touched.

A visitation was held on Sunday, November 6, 2022, at Shaw Funeral Home of Vici. Funeral services were held on a later date with a burial at Littlefield Cemetery, in Littlefield, TX.
